Our miserable cold weather of the last two days was too much for Mrs. Carpenter Bee, who we found on our back steps waiting for the sun to warm her up.

I could see her breathing (abdomen expanding and contracting) but no reaction to the flash photography until I relocated her into the sun. I was busy trying to move her from my right hand to my left hand for more photos when she flew off.
