Kingfishers | Red-backed Kingfisher > lookout ◦

The Red-backed Kingfisher (Todiramphus pyrrhopygius) is identified by the striking rusty red chestnut rump, with blue/green (usually appearing more bluish in colour) upper wings and the black eye-line and greyish streaked crown. They can often be seen perched high on branches, providing a good lookout, especially for prey.
