Alice Springs Fauna •

Belonging to a group commonly called Large Water Beetles, Hydrophilus (Hydrophilus) brevispina is found across mainland Australia.

The follow photographs are of a water beetle found on the paving in a garden in Alice Springs. The beetle was originally on its back and it looked like it was dying.
