Known as the Yellow Hairy Flower Wasp (Radumeris radula), is a largish wasp and like other Scoliid wasps, the females have short antennae, whilst the male of the species have longer antennae. The female of the species are larger then the male with both male and female Radumeris radula having the orange to brownish wings, that can also look blackish under certain light conditions.
Pictured here, the Radumeris radula is feeding on the flowers of the Red Bud Mallee (Eucalyptus pachyphylla) in the Alice Springs Desert Park.
