The Aknganentye Groceries 1987 (restored in 2001) is by artists Gabriella Wallace, Carol Ruff, Shawn Doson, Jenny Green, Theresa Ryder (and funded by the Aboriginal Development Commission). This mural is on the west wall of the Yeperenye Shopping Centre.

These mural depict traditional bush foods of the region.

Elements in the mural include wild toma­toes, cork­wood hon­ey, kan­ga­roos and a bush turkey. The mur­al was designed and paint­ed main­ly by the local Cen­tral Arrernte women and was car­ried out in a style close­ly asso­ci­at­ed with the Namatji­ra school of water colourists. Its mes­sage of the health advan­tages of bush foods and pro­vides a reminder that there are two cul­tur­al sys­tems of envi­ron­men­tal knowl­edge co-exist­ing in Mparntwe.
