In my labour of love… series, we look at spiders in action. Whilst some species of spiders spin webs to trap and capture their prey, other spider species actively hunt for their prey. They feed on a variety of insect prey, from ants, flies, dragonflies, and even on other spiders. Following images from our wonderful contributors of the spider with their prey.

- Round Ant Eater Spider (Zenodorus orbiculatus)
- Maratus volans (Peacock Spider)
- Longtailed Orb-weaving Spider (Argiope protensa)
- Australian Golden Orb Weaver Spider (Trichonephila edulis)
- White Crab Spider (Thomisus spectabilis)
- Green Jumping Spider (Mopsus mormon)
- Plumed Peacock Spider (Maratus plumosus)
