Mopsus mormon in the family Salticidae, is one of Austria’s larger jumping spiders, the female measuring 12 mm. It is the only species in the genus Mopsus.

The male and female of the species are quite different in appearance, with the male Mopsus mormon having dark colour to the legs and strinking dark face, sporting long white “side whiskers”, that rise to a peak surmounted by a topknot of black hairs. The females lack the whiskers and topknot, featuring green facial colour with a red and white “mask” above the eyes.
