Maratus speculifer are tiny 2-3 mm jumping spider, that are found living on sand dunes near the beach (in fact on the edge of the beach), in Western Australia.
The male is a black Maratus, who will raise his abdomen in the air when he sees a female. The females are almost white with light ginger markings.
Pictured here is a female Maratus speculifer, perched off the ground on a curled leaf looking for a boyfriend!
The male Maratus speculifer has spied a female, and is raising his abdomen in the air.
