Maratus > Maratus Image Index

Maratus purcellae, with the common name of Purcell’s Peacock Spider, is a tiny 2 mm peacock spider that is known from some locations in NSW and the ACT. They are so small that often, all you see is just a fleck of gold in the sunlight. It has been observed that the male of this species does not raise leg 3 in it’s courtship display.
