Cebysa leucotelus is commonly known as the Australian bagmoth or Lichen Bag Moth (family Psychidae). It is a moth found in the southern half of Australia and New Zealand.
The caterpillars feed on algae, fungus and lichen that can be found growing on tree trunks, rocks, old fences, etc. There is considerable sexual dimorphism, the females being colourful and flightless. The female has black wings with yellow-orange coloured wingtips and patches. The black parts of the wings and the body have a metallic blue sheen. The male are black and have more markings on the wings to that of the female. The male are not iridescence and has fully developed wings, and can fly.
