Family Flatidae, commonly called Flatid Planthoppers or Fulgoroid Planthoppers, are cosmopolitan in distribution (a wide spread group of insects found around the world). Like all Planthoppers, they feed on and suck phloem sap of plants.

There are some amazing and interesting looking Flatid Planthoppers in Australia.
