Red-necked StintRed-necked Stint – Bird Banding & Flagging
The Red-necked Stint (Calidris ruficollis) is a small migratory wader found in both inland and coastal wetlands and estuaries.





The breeding adult has strong orange-brown coloured head, bordered by dark stippling, unstreaked orange breast, white V on its back, bright orange and gold tones in the upperwing coverts. The non-breeding adult are grey above and pale below. The juvenile is similar but has a richer grey-brown plumage above with pale colour edges to the feathers in the upperparts.
