Heart of the Desert Dreamer by Catherine Baird (49 yrs), Sydney NSW
Premade felt base. Needle felted ridges. Horns made with wire & needle felting, with wax glue finish. Scales made from nuno felt silk & stitched in place. Centre top is nuno-felt silk stitched over needle felted lumps & embellished with black glass beads. Horn buck – needle felted, wax glue finish.

My Mum’s Big Warm Heart by Belinda Drury (56 yrs), Thoona VIC
Wet felted using hand dyed 23 micron merino wool, over a resist. The main veins are prefelts embedded and the surface veins are eri silk and flax fibres. All large outlets are wet felted in, embellished with ostrich feathers
