Known as the Southern Moon Moth (Dasypodia selenophora), this is a medium to large moth (with a wingspan of about 90 mm). The larvae of this moth feed on Acacia species. Other common names include Granny Moth and Southern Moon Moth.
A moth of the family Noctuidae. it was first described by Achille Guenée in 1852. Most observations have been in the southern half of Australia, from the west coast, through Central Australia and to the east coast. It is also found on Norfolk Island, New Zealand and Macquarie Island.
