The Tasmanian Waratah (Telopea truncata), as the name suggests, is found growing in the wild in Tasmania.
It occurs at altitudes of 600-1,200 m, in moist acid soils, in subalpine shrublands and wet sclerophyll forests of Tasmania. Flowers are usually red, although there are cream and pink forms. There is also a rare yellow form.
Examples can be found growing in the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens and also Blue Mountains Botanic Garden, New South Wales.
