Australia has some wonderful creatures both large and small. Just walking down the street, along green verges, open gardens and your local parks provides opportunities to see some Australian fauna. Even the walls on the side of buildings may offer a chance to see something, and with your mobile phone, it is a great way to snap those observations. Following are some of the fauna I have photographed on my Samsung mobile phone in Alice Springs.
I was taken with the pattern and purple colouration of this grasshopper… Coryphistes sp

That captured moment of one of my favourite native bees, sealing off the nesting cells… Megachile aurifrons

It was exciting to see the Golden Orb-weaver with the Giant Grasshopper that was bigger then the spider… Trichonephila edulis

Such a small native bee, and being able to capture it almost face-on… Hylaeus ruficeps

This Central Bearded Dragon was in my front garden… Pogona vitticeps

I almost walked pass this… hanging by a silken thread from a Witchetty Bush… Calpinae

The first time I have ever seen a caterpillar in moult… Belenois java teutonia

On a visit to the Alice SpringsDesert Park, there was a wild Perentie at the entry walkway… Varanus giganteus

I was in the right place at the right time in my garden to snap this shot… Argiope protensa

Looking back at this photo, was really interesting to see the patterns on this grasshopper… Macrotona

I rescued this Meadow Argus Butterfly from the swimming pool… Junonia villida

One of the easier photos to take on my mobile, as it was at my back door… Terpandrus tauwa

Another rescue from the swimming pool, the Yellow Hairy Flower Wasp… Radumeris tasmaniensis

Being able to get up close, whilst the Caper White was laying her eggs… Belenois java teutonia

I was thrilled to be able to snap the heart on the butt end of this beetle… Dicranolaius bellulus

A juvenile White-plumed Honeyeater that I helped back up into the tree… Ptilotula penicillata

A face-on photo of the Reed Bee after I had rescued it from the swimming pool… Braunsapis sp
