Onthophagus neostenocerus is a species of the genus Onthophagus occuring across Australia and found in most major types of habitat.

Identifying feature of Onthophagus neostenocerus are the straight horns, large eyes, and perching behaviour, especially on a leaf.

In Australia there are currently 202 recognised species (at time of research, listed on Atlas of Living Australia).
