RhytiphoraRhytiphora dallasi

The genus Rhytiphora belong to the Cerambycidae, known commonly as the Longhorn Beetles, Long-horned Beetles or Longicorns Beetles. The larvae of this group of beetles are often referred to as round-headed borers)

The Cerambycidae, are a large family of beetles, with most species characterized by the antennae being as long as or longer than the beetle’s own body.

The Australian longhorn beetles in the subfamily, Lamiinae, were revised in 2013 by Slipinski and Escalona, with the entire genu, Rhytiphora, revised by Tavikilian and Nearns in 2014. The current list of species (on Atlas of Living Australia) may be incomplete.
