The Crested Pigeon (Ocyphaps lophotes) is a member of the Bronzewing family, that have iridescent patches on their wing feathers. The Crested Pigeon wears the glossy metallic green-purple colours on the feathers of the wing coverts known as the greaters, tertials and secondaries. The iridescent colours are fringed with white.

The iridescence are at their most striking when sunlight reflects off them, as well as during their head bowing courtship display.
