When contemplating the theme for the 2023 Beanie Fest I thought deep and hard what my favourite holiday memories were.
Our early family camping adventures in the 1970’s and 80’s were high on the list to be explored.
However, in the early 2000’s, after having lived in Australia for 30 years or so, my husband and I had the opportunity to walk the LARAPINTA trail in the West McDonnell Ranges. This was the first time we really thoroughly experienced the Red Centre by spending day in day out in the middle of it. What better way to experience this amazing landscape than walking?
I created my hat and the walking experience around this beautiful ancient landscape. I hope it does it justice!
