Species Euploea core is known as the Common Crow, that is found in Australia to South Asia. It is also sometimes referred to as the Australian Crow.
It is a glossy-black, medium-sized butterfly with rows of white spots on the margins of its wings. The distinctive looking caterpillars, is known to sequesters toxins from its food plant, which is passed on from larva to pupa, and then to the adult form. While feeding, it is a very bold butterfly, taking a long time at each bunch of flowers. The males of this species is known to frequent plants like Crotalaria (Rattlepods) and Heliotropium (Heliotropes) to replenish their pheromone, used to attract the female during courtship.
