The New South Wales Arachnids, in the class Arachnida, is a classification that include scorpions, pseudoscorpions, harvestmen, ticks, mites and spiders.
Not to be mistaken for the class Insecta, one of the distinguishing features of the class Arachnidna is that the adult arachnids have eight legs attached to the cephalothorax. In some species the front most pair of legs has converted to a sensory function, while in others, different appendages can grow large enough to take on the appearance of extra pairs of legs. You can see more information on the differences between the two classes in our main section on Arachnida (Arachnids).
