White-fronted ChatWhite-fronted Chat – water White-fronted Chat – foraging
Although the White-fronted Chat (Epthianura albifrons) is classified as a honeyeater, and has the same brush-tipped tongue as other members of their family Meliphagidae, they do not feed on nectar. Their main diet consists of insects.
They can often be observed walking and running along the ground, looking for insects. The White-fronted Chats are often observed in flocks of about 20 birds, especially in areas where there is a proliferation of insects.
Some of the insects that can make up their diet include midges, kelp-flies, caterpillars and beetles.
