Daviesia pachyphylla is a species of flowering plant in the family Fabaceae, a slender often open-spreading shrub that is endemic to the south of Western Australia, near Esperance and the Eastern Wheatbelt region.
Commonly known as “Ouch Bush”, with the crowded, sharply-pointed, narrowly conical phyllodes, along the arching branchlets. These swollen succulent leaves are about 2.5 cm long and as thick as a pencil. The winter pea-shaped flowers are yellow to orange and dark reddish in colour.

It is named after Hugh Davies, a Welsh botanist. Pachy = thick, phyllus = leaved. The specific epithet (pachyphylla) means “thick-leaved”.
