Commonly known as Flat Wattle or Clay Wattle, Acacia glaucoptera is endemic to the south-west of Western Australia.
It is a spreading or erect shrub which ranges in height from 0.3 to 1.2 metres and up to 2 m in width. It has yellow, globular shaped flowers and blue-green wing-like foliage, with attractive purple-red new growth. Instead of leaves, it has modified leaf stalks (phyllodes) that perform all the functions of leaves.
