Buforania crassa, commonly known as a Toadhopper is a plump spur-throated grasshopper.

Found in the Northern Territory of Australia, they are often found on rocky substrate, being well camouflaged against the red rocky ranges in Central Australia. They can be found around the edges of freshwater, and are also seen on and sheltering under the host plants that they feed on, such as Maireana sp., Sclerolaena sp., Enchylaena tomatosa and Stemodia viscosa.1

They are about 6-11 millimeters in length, with the adult females being seen to grow to a total length of 10 cm, with a thorax of about 3.5 cm wide.
