Megachile aurifrons are considered generalist feeders, taking advantage of many different genera/species of flowering plants when feeding on nectar and collecting pollen.

They have been observed feeding and collecting pollen from a wide range of plants including Corymbia ficifolia, Crotalaria eremaea subsp strehlowii, Daviesia angulata, Eucalyptus platypus, Jacksonia (ie Jacksonia sternbergiana), Lythrum salicaria, Salvia and Verticordia (just to name some of the plant genera/species they visit).
