Commonly known as the Red Singer, the Amegilla (Asaropoda) rhodoscymna, belong to the same subgenus as the commonly named ‘teddy bear bees’, Amegilla (Asaropoda) bombiformis.
Photographed here in Ballandean, in the Southern Downs region of Queensland, the Red Singer current distribution stretches from northern New South Wales, up into Queensland as far as Cape York and the Top End of the Northern Territory.
