Sapphire Coast BeesMegachile ustulata Neon Cloak-and-dagger Bee (Thyreus nitidulus)
Megachile ustulata, from the family Megachilidae, is a solitary bee that can often be found making its nest in cracks and burrows. It especially likes the hollow ends of bamboo garden stakes, although Megachile ustulata has been photographed nesting in a couple of old oilskins.
