There is a memory from my teenage years… of being friendly with my school libarian. I still remember her name… Mrs Foot. I was a bit of an avid reader back then, and I remember she recomended a book for me to read, titled: I Heard the Owl Call My Name by Margaret Craven (a best-selling 1967 novel). The book tells the story of a young Anglican priest, named Mark Brian and who unbeknownst to him, has not long to live.
It is funny how memories are triggered, as this particular night at home, I heard an owl call, and that memory popped up. Not that I have any incurable desease, and if my mother is anything to go by (who has now reached the age of ninety years), I should have many years still to come.
