SpinifexSoft Spinifex (Triodia pungens) Weeping Spinifex (Triodia brizoides)

The Weeping Spinifex (Triodia brizoides) is a tussock grass with leaves that grow to a pointed tip, up to 50 cm in length. An attractive spinifex especially when the flower/seed head grow out of the foliage and are seen blowing gently in the wind. The straw-coloured seed head form a loose open weeping shape, that are often seen droop to one side.

They are one of the common spinifex seen at Wurre / Rainbow Valley, as well as throughout the MacDonnell Ranges.
