The very popular Alice Springs Beanie Festival, started by Jo Nixon’s aunty Adi Dunlop (back in 1996), is culminating in the 30th Anniversary and at this point in time, will be the final beanie festival. We at Ausemade have been very proud to be part of this journey and wish to thank Jo Nixon and the many volunteers who helped make it the succcess it is… and wishing you all the very best for the future.

- Inspiration came from realistic images
- Simple beanie base crotchet – 100% wool
- Textured legs, wings, tail
- Some acrylic on head and wings
- 35% wool 35% A;[aca 30% Acrylic

- Wool made from dog fur
- Natural colour rom 3 different dogs. Knitted legs + body fitted over frame
- Loose beanie web plaited
- Sewn and knotted wool

- ’30 Years of Amazing Beanies’ by Marilyn Hunter, Kapunda SA
- Cake hat was hand knitted and felted.
- The heads, candles, writing all hand stitched.
- Tiny beanies knitted.
- Materials – hand dyed wool, novelty yearns, op shop fabrics, embroidery threads, beads and a lot of Glitter!!
