Ya came into our lives in early October 2019. This was shortly after Ro had passed away on the 28 Septemer 2019. My partner said that Pup needed a new companion, that would help her through the loss of Ro. So with Pup in our 4 wheel drive, we headed off to our local dog shelter, where we got to see some puppies. Pup led us instantly to our next adoptee.
We named her Gnoilya… and just like Ro (our boisterous Robustus back in 2009) and Puperlicious (our gorgeous Pup), we shortened Gnoilya to Ya.

Ya grew to be larger then Pup and both were inseparable.

When our dear Puperlicious passed away, we adopted Fin, as a companion for Ya.
Fin’s name came from Finke (a community serviced by the MacDonnell Regional Council), and whose name is also derived from the Finke River (that is usually a dry river and one of the oldest river systems in the world dating back 350 million years), which meanders through the area traditionally known as Aputula.
Fin is also the abreviation for the word finish, as he will most likely be our last adopted family pet.

There was certainly a size difference between Fin and Ya, but they got on famously, even when they were wrestling…

Ya is starting to show her age, sporting some grey around her muzzle… but always bringing a smile to our faces, when she lies around or snuggles into the furniture.

Looking back at our photos from our family album, we could see the similarity in appearance between Ya and Ro. The following photograph (from 2009) is our beautiful Pup with a baby Ro.and in the later photos Ro is up to 10 years older.

Pup and Ro were always tuckered out after an outing…

Ro was a happy dog, and always ready for a photo…
