Amphylaeus obscuriceps is also commonly known as the Dark-headed Dimorphic-Masked Bee. At time of writing, the current distribution appears to be along the east coast from Hervey Bay down through New South Wales (including Albury-Wangarata), and down through Victoria to Dandenong.
Pictured here is Amphylaeus (Agogenohylaeus) obscuriceps on Xanthorrhoea johnsonii. It would appear that the pollen on the bee is not from the grass tree.
