Genduara punctigera, is a moth whose current recorded distribution is concentrated in the south-east of Australia with some observations in Queensland, Top End, wheatbelt of Western Australia, South Australia and Tasmania (source Atlas of Living Australia).

Common names include Crexa Moth and Spotted Clear Winged Snout Moth.

The female Genduara punctigera is a stocky moth with long white hair on the thorax and at the end of the abdomen. The forewings are mainly brown, with grey and white flecks. There are narrow scalloped bands on the wings, and dark oval markings. There are variations between individuals (as recorded on Atlas of Living Australia). They have a wing span of about 50 mm.

The males are said to be quite different in appearance having similar body shape but unusual transparent wings with few scales.

The caterpillar is a greyish brown and hairy with red markings and yellow spots. They can be observed resting during the day, stretched in a flattened position along the stem of the food plant Exocarpus cupressiformis, a Native Cherry, the same plant where It will pupate.
