The Galah (Eolophus roseicapilla) is one of the most common and widespread cockatoos found across mainland Australia. They are often seen in large flocks foraging for food on grassy areas in open country.
In Central Australia, they can often be seen around Alice Springs and along the ranges, especially where food and water is available.
They can often be seen in the presence of other bird species such as the Red-tailed Black Cockatoo (Calyptorhynchus banksii), sharing tree tops and water sources.
The galahs known have a number of other common names including the Rose-breasted Cockatoo, Galah Cockatoo, Roseate Cockatoo or Pink and Grey.
