Zebra Finch (Taeniopygia guttata)Zebra Finch – danger in numbers
The Zebra Finch (Taeniopygia guttata) were seen in large numbers at Newhaven Wildlife Sanctuary, in particular around the water sources.
One of the most widespread and common Australian grass finches, the Zebra Finch (Taeniopygia guttata) are found across three-quarters of mainland Australia.
The sheer numbers of finches, meant there were plenty of accidents among the finches trying to get their share of the water.
