It’s either a little bee that looks like a little Crabronid wasp, or a little Crabronid wasp that looks like a little bee…

Megachile sp (Native Bee), Alice Springs NT

It looked almost deceased, when I fished it out of the swimming pool in Alice Springs. I could sense the water it chucked up (or maybe my active imagination), as it slowly crawled on to the leaf I held out… placing it safely to finish drying off and for me to observe, before flying away. Another life saved and another good deed for the day 😀

It has been suggested that it belongs to the genus Megachile
