The Amegilla (Asaropoda) rhodoscymna, known commonly as the Red Singer belong to the same subgenus as the commonly named ‘teddy bear bees’, Amegilla (Asaropoda) bombiformis.
The Red Singer is a delightful looking bee, whose current distribution stretches from northern New South Wales, up into Queensland as far as Cape York and the Top End of the Northern Territory (source Atlas of Living Australia).
