The Port Lincoln Ringneck (Barnardius zonarius) is also commonly known as the Australian Ringneck and the Port Lincoln Parrot.

The Port Lincoln Ringneck feathers are emerald to lime green across the back and a darker green on the upper breast and across the shoulder. They have a yellow to orange band across the lower abdomen and a yellow hind collar. The top of the head is dark blue-black with indigo blue patches on either side of the cheeks. They have a long tapered tail that have a green and blue upper and is white underneath.

The Australian Ringnecks are usually found in pairs or small group. Their habitat are open woodlands and tree-lined water courses. They are also often seen in urban parks and garden areas.

They are often seen feeding on the ground and in trees and shrubs, where they eat seeds, fruit flowers, nectar and insects.

The Australian Ringnecks lay their eggs in hollows in trees. Whilst the female incubates the eggs, the male feeds her. The young are fed by both parents.
