Nellie Marks Nakamarra was born in Papunya and grew up in the Western Desert. The younger sister of Elizabeth Marks Nakamarra (a renowned Central Australian artist), some of Nellie’s artistic influences included Old Mick Namararri, Turkey Tolson, Uta Uta, among many others.
Nellie lives mainly at Kintore, approximately 530 kms west of Alice Springs, often travelling between Kintore, Tjukulla and Kiwikurra.
