I do not really have that many memories of all my childhood school years… just fragments from different periods.
Some of what I am today was shaped by my school years. Whilst I do not remember much of those early years in England, I do have one memory of getting into trouble for walking home from school. The reason I did not catch the bus home, was because I had spent my bus fare on sweets at the tuck shop. I was a bit naughty back then, as I had a real sweet tooth… my family have a few photos of me with no teeth 🙂😀.
My father who at the time was in the British army, had been posted to West Germany with his family. Here I attended Cornwall School for my high school years. I have memories of friends I made at the school, some of whom I still connect with today.

I remember pottery and woodwork classes, as well as cooking classes. There were of course the usual subjects such as english, biology and horticulture. I do have a negative memory from my english class, when we all had to say what we wanted to do when we grew up. I said I wanted to write, and I was told to be sensible (most likely as I did not score very high in my english exams). I am fortunate today, as I can write all I like and over the years I had some articles and poetry published, as well as a short story that was included in an book of short stories.
This class photo includes the popular Mrs Foote, our wonderful local Librarian, who encourage my interest in reading books. Behind Mrs Foote is Marcellaine who I am still in touch with today.
