Rodentia (Class Mammalia) are rodents making up the largest order of mammals, with somewhere between 2,000 and 3,000 species.
Australia has some unique rodents, many that have become extinct, whilst others are listed as vulnerable.




Following is the Plains Mouse (Pseudomys australis). Note the tail is different (it is not hairy) to that of the Spinifex Hopping Mouse.
