Australian HobbyAustralian Hobby – captured moment Australian Hobby – preening & roosting
The Australian Hobby (Falco longipennis) can often be seen roosting up high, offering a wonderful opportunity for a photograph of that ‘captured moment’.
There are three recognised subspecies of the Australian hobbys:
- Falco longipennis longipennis
- Falco longipennis hanieli
- Falco longipennis murchisonianus
The following photos are of Falco longipennis murchisonianus, that are paler in colour and found further inland compared to those found near the coastal regions.
