The Grey-fronted Honeyeater (Ptilotula plumula) is small to medium size honeyeater endemic to Australia. They are found in open woodlands across inland Australia.

The grey-fronted honeyeater is olive brown above, with olive-yellow crown, small grey patch on the forehead, and blackish lores (the lores are the areas of a bird’s face on either side from the base of the bill to the front of the eyes, with the area no wider then the top and bottom of the bill). The cheek patch is yellow with black streak / border. The species flight feathers are yellow-olive and the underparts are an off white with indistinct stripes.

The grey-fronted honeyeater is easily confused with the Yellow-tinted Honeyeater, both are similar size and overlap in their range. The differences between them include the lores which are yellow-grey, plumes that are narrower, darker streaked gray underparts and a thinner, more curved yellow neck mark in the Yellow-tinted Honeyeater.

Common name
Once mistakenly known as the Yellow-fronted Honeyeater, Plumed Honeyeater, Gray-fronted Honeyeater, and now commonly known and spelt Grey-fronted Honeyeater.
