How lucky are we to be able to visit — the Standley Chasm is an awe inspiring place.

A pathway runs from the Restaurant / Café to the actual Chasm (about 15 to 20 min), so easy walking (although care should be taken, as there are some rocky areas).

Getting there about noon is the best time as the sun is overhead and Lights up the deep red’s of the Chasm’s wall. If you touch the walls, you will find them very smooth almost glass-like, after 1,000’s of years of water rushing through the Chasm.

The restaurants’ café has good food and beverages and there is also a gift shop.

A fairly short drive from Alice Springs approx. 40 minutes.
View the Tjoritja / West MacDonnell Ranges on the way — spectacular scenery.
