Euryopis > Euryopis umbilicata (Superb Ant-eater Spider)
The Euryopis is a genus group of spiders commonly known as Ant-eating Spiders, that are within the Comb-footed Spiders family Theridiidae.
They are tiny spiders (about 2-3 mm in body length), with variable colour pattern, ranging from grey or brown, whilst others have black, orange or red-brown markings.
This group of spiders are known to hunt and capture ants, with species such as Euryopis umbilicata, leap over the ant and lassoing it with silk.
