The dictionary interprets the word ‘reflection’ as
an instance of reflecting especially, (as in the return of light or sound waves from a surface); the production of an image by or as if by a mirror; the action of bending or folding back, as in a reflected part / fold.

…and as I sit here at my keyboard, reflecting on my life so far and the world at large, the turmoil of the past year and the unpredictable year to come, I can put those thoughts aside, and evoke a serenity by admiring the reflections of birds…
