The Narrow-leaf Drumsticks (Isopogon anethifolius) belong to a group of plants known commonly as “drumsticks”, which comes from the shape of the fruiting cone.

Narrow-leaf Drumsticks occurs on central and southern coast and tablelands, in heath or open forest and often on sandstone in New South Wales. They can be seen growing on the sandstone regions of the Blue Mountains.

Leaves
terete, 4-15 cm long, divided into slender segments that usually point up.

Flower
yellow, in terminal sessile rounded heads about 4 cm in diameter. Flowers in winter and spring. The common name “drumsticks” is in reference to the rounded cone, measuring about 2.5 cm across.

Found
occurs on central and southern coast and tablelands, in heath or open forest and often on sandstone in New South Wales. These images were photographed on Mount Blackheath in the Blue Mountains region.
