The species Isopedella inola spider is part of the Australian Huntsman Spiders group belonging to the family Sparassidae (formerly Heteropodidae).

Whilst many Huntsman Spiders can be found residing under the loose bark of trees, under rocks, in crevices, rock walls and on foliage, others are successfully living in urban regions. The Isopedella inola pictured here was photographed on the ceiling roof joist over a car space in Alice Springs, Northern Territory.

Many thanks to Ben Kurek from Australian spider identification page (on Facebook) for identifying this spider for us.
